Yes, this is a common issue and it’s usually related to how Brave handles cookies and shields.

Here are a few things you can try:

  1. Allow Cookies for Spotify
Go to Spotify’s site, click on the Brave shield icon in the address bar, and toggle “Allow all cookies.”
  2. Disable “Clear cookies on exit”
  • Go to: brave://settings/clearBrowserData
  • Make sure “Cookies and other site data” is not selected under the “On exit” tab.
  1. Add Spotify to the ‘Sites that can always use cookies’ list
  • Navigate to: brave://settings/cookies
  • Scroll down to “Sites that can always use cookies”
  • Add: https://open.spotify.com
  1. Brave Sync / Profile Issue
If you’re using Brave Sync across devices, make sure your profile isn’t resetting your data each time you open the browser.

I’ve also written a short tech guide related to browser setup and online tools here:

It may be useful if you’re managing work tools across browsers.

All of these do not work as expected. The only way to keep logged in on every site (YouTube, Spotify, Gmail, etc, etc) is to always allow cookies and never have any deleted. This does not happen in Chrome or Firefox. This is not good for any kind of security/privacy. Since Chrome is also based on chromium, and that browser (while it sucks in other ways) does not have Shields, I suspect that it is Shields that is the problem. If there was a way to completely disable Shields, we could test to see if that is the cause of the issue or not.

This method doesn’t resolve the issue at all. Even after trying the site with

  1. all the shields off,

  2. extensions off,

  3. allowing all cookies including third party cookies and

  4. unchecking “Cookies and other site data” under the “On exit” tab in [brave://settings/clearBrowserData]

This may be related to the following issue that the team is looking at presently:

Yes, thanks @Mattches. I’ve shared this community report over there as well, for reference and added here in ‘General Login Related Discussions

if you login with email, then it asks you for the verification code, under you will see a “login with password”. If you do that once it wont log out every single time you start up brave. Hope that helps

Hi Yiokky,

Genuine appreciations for this solution. Strangely, it actually did work. Why is it like that, do you perhaps happen to know?
