Logic behind Trackers and Ad Block

Description of the issue:

I developed a simple visitor counter which is a simple SVG image that counts the number of users that visit a page. I don’t understand why my SVG is blocked whereas other visitor counters such as HITS and Visitor badge work.

Exact URL of the website in question:

Screenshot of the ad as it appears in Brave

Did the issue present with default Shields settings? (yes/no)

Does the site function as expected when Shields are turned off?

Is there a specific Shields configuration that causes the site to break? If so, tell us that configuration. (yes/no):

Tracker and ad block (standard)

Does the site work as expected when using Chrome?

Brave version (check About Brave):

Version 1.17.73 Chromium: 87.0.4280.67 (Official Build) (64-bit) on Windows 10

Hi, Technically that is still tracking a user, which is why it was blocked

So are other visitor counters. Why are they working??

Submit websites where you see this, can look into it

Here is a simple webpage that I created for investigation.

The one in the center is mine.

Both url’s are blocked on both pages

It’s blocked in Easyprivacy due to the string /hitcounter/* btw.

Wow. Thanks for the help. Replacing hitcounter with another string fixed it. :+1:
