Loading Bar Flashes Unnecessarily Whilst Scrolling

Hi,

I am experiencing an issue on Brave for iOS where the blue loading bar flashes unnecessarily across the address bar whilst scrolling on certain websites.

One example is https://www.privacyguides.org/.

When I scroll through articles on this website, if I touch the screen to stop the scrolling, or simply lift my finger after scrolling and wait for the scrolling to stop, the blue loading bar flashes across the address bar. Is it possible for this to be fixed?

I have also encountered this when scrolling through the Brave community forum.

I believe the expected behaviour is that the loading bar should not flash across the address bar when the scrolling stops as the page is not reloading every time I scroll it.

Tested:

iPhone 8 Plus, iOS 16.7.10, Brave Browser 1.73 (97)
iPhone 14, iOS 17.7.2, Brave Browser 1.73 (97)

For both devices, using Private Browsing Only mode, and:

  • [Global] Block Scripts: ENABLED (but site specific Brave Shields “Block Scripts” DISABLED)
  • [Global] Block Cookies: DISABLED
  • [Global] Block Fingerprinting: ENABLED
  • [Global] Enable Global Privacy Control: ENABLED

No scrolling issues / problems when visiting:
