The Android version of Brave occasionally has an annoying pop-up survey asking me to tap either a thumbs-down or thumbs-up emoji to rate it. Those are literally the only two options - there is no “x”, or no “don’t show this again” feature. While it does seem like I can tap outside of the popup and dismiss it, it seems that it’ll come back about a month later, which implies that I must answer it one way or another for it to not actually appear again.
I would really rather this not pop up in the first place, but if it absolutely has to, why not just have an option to keep it permanently dismissed without acknowledging either option? There doesn’t seem to be a flag to suppress this either.
I shouldn’t have to be obligated to for it to permanently dismiss itself. Sure enough, I returned to this thread because it popped up a second time, despite not clearing app data or cache, confirming my suspicions.
Yeah, makes sense it’d pop up again. The app don’t know if you saw it or not. Until someone messes with it, bet it’ll keep showing. Tagging @Mattches from Brave to get the scoop.
This is a common practice used by many applications to get user feedback (which is very valuable and helps us make a better product) and yes, it will continue to show periodically (not sure what the frequency is off hand) until one of the options is selected. Once an option i selected you will not see it again.
If you feel this strongly about this, why not select one of the options and when prompted, leave feedback saying that you think user’s should have the option to not rate and/or permanently dismiss the message
