I like Brave Leo because it incorporates real time Search results. However, using the sidebar version of Leo (clicking on the star icon right side of the search bar) doesn’t generate real time data. For example, if you use Leo through Search and ask: “who’s the current President of the US?” It will say “Donald Trump”; but if you use the Leo sidebar version and ask Leo the same question, it will say “Joe Biden” cuz it uses data from 2023.
Can you please update it so Leo uses real time data for both versions? Thank you
They already have overall. For example:
And once it answers, it kind of shows if the result relied on Search, such as below where you see that it shows Improved answer searching...
and shows what it used for search terms.

Leo is just the name of the built in AI within the browser.

The AI in Brave Search doesn’t have a name. It’s just Answer With AI.
Leo
Leo is basically just the name for the browser function. It isn’t its own AI model or anything. When using Leo you may be choosing the default options of Claude, Llama, or Mixtral. Or you can bring your own model to use.
So don’t think of it like ChatGPT, Grok, or others where the name refers to the model being used…as Leo isn’t quite unique.
Answer With AI
This isn’t quite a model like we tend to think of with AI. It primarily exists just to summarize search results. While technically a language model, it’s not built out to be a large language model like most others and is very limited.
Though the follow-up questions do trigger the models from Leo typically.
