Launch Brave 1.2.41 on MacOS Mojave 10.14.6 via CLI with --disable-sync CRASHES

I launch Brave via CLI with a bunch of command-line options (and have for a long time). Upon upgrading to the latest Brave, it now crashes.

OS Version: MacOS Mojave 10.14.6
Brave Version: Version 1.2.41 Chromium: 79.0.3945.88 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Terminal output of launch and crash:
/Applications/Brave\ Browser.app/Contents/MacOS/Brave\ Browser --args --disable-sync [0107/131531.781068:WARNING:process_memory_mac.cc(93)] mach_vm_read(0x7ffeec4a2000, 0x2000): (os/kern) invalid address (1) [0107/131531.918578:WARNING:system_snapshot_mac.cc(42)] sysctlbyname kern.nx: No such file or directory (2) [22329:775:0107/131534.451587:ERROR:child_thread_impl.cc(227)] Invalid PlatformChannel receive right [0107/131534.462550:WARNING:process_memory_mac.cc(93)] mach_vm_read(0x7ffee19d0000, 0x2000): (os/kern) invalid address (1) Segmentation fault: 11 [0107/131534.658807:WARNING:system_snapshot_mac.cc(42)] sysctlbyname kern.nx: No such file or directory (2)

The key CLI parameter involved is --disable-sync which in the past always worked just fine. But with the most recent version, if I attempt to use --disable-sync it will always crash.

@astounding,
To confirm, the browser will run as intended if that arg is omitted, is that correct?

That is correct.

Extra text to satisfy the “must be > 20 characters” requirement…

@astounding,
Thank you for confirming. I also assume you don’t want to, nor are you planning to use Sync at all . Note that the Sync process will not run if there is no Sync chain.

Additionally, the arg you’re looking for should actually be --disable-brave-sync
