Lack of white background/black text option in brave, most of the settings options have gone

Description of the issue:
After years of using brave I encountered two fatal flaws in Version 1.32.115 Chromium: 96.0.4664.93 (Official Build) unknown (64-bit) as included in manjaro.

  1. settings page only has options to:
    set Profile
    Import bookmarks
    make brave default
    startup new page/continue where left off/open page or set of pages

  2. until this version there was an option to replace the unreadable dark grey on black colour scheme

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
start brave
click the 3 horizonal bar icon
spit dummy

Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):
all the settings options I need to set are gone

Expected result:
About 5 scroll downs of options available to be adjusted

Reproduces how often:
Every time I try to get brave usable

Additional Information:
Without these settings brave is unusable for me
