Ah, I see.
This means that you clicked on someones referral promo link to download the browser – correct? If you simply visit brave.com/download, you won’t see a message like that, but downloading using referral promo code will.

So you did click on someones referral link – that user is using Google ads/some other ads system to disseminate their link.
