Issues with sidebar mouseover behavior causing activation failures and unwanted page resizing

Description of the issue:

There are two issues I’m experiencing with the Brave browser’s sidebar when using the “mouseover” mode of sidebar:

  1. Sometimes, when I move the mouse to the edge of the screen, the sidebar doesn’t appear. This seems inconsistent — it occasionally works, but often it doesn’t respond to the mouseover.
  2. When the sidebar does appear, it currently pushes/shrinks the page content to make space for itself. This causes noticeable layout shifts and even some lag, especially on pages with complex layouts. A better user experience would be for the sidebar to appear as an overlay on top of the page rather than resizing the content.

Yeah, I am also facing the same issue, and even though I am facing this in the “homepage” or “new tab” window of Brave, I have to switch from “Autohide” to “on” and then again to “Autohide” for it to work.

I press the home button twice to make that happen. this is really silly. it shouldn’t be a big problem for developers to fix it and i am wondering why this happened at the beginning!
