The Brave Browser has been a great alternative to Chrome for many users, offering a faster browsing experience and enhanced privacy. However, recurring issues are making me question whether switching was the right decision.
1. Default Search Engine Bug
One of the most frustrating problems is Brave’s inability to keep Google as the default search engine. Even after setting it manually, the browser keeps resetting it, forcing constant adjustments.
Additionally, Brave Search is currently not a viable option for daily use, as some searches return as few as three results, making it practically unusable.
2. Cursor Issues
Another major problem is that the mouse cursor randomly disappears within web pages. It also behaves inconsistently when interacting with text fields and links, making navigation frustrating and unintuitive.
3. Pop-up Issues with Passwords and Location Permissions
Pop-ups for saving passwords or allowing location access often require multiple clicks to work, and sometimes they don’t respond at all. This makes even simple tasks unnecessarily frustrating.
Is Brave Losing Focus?
While these issues persist, Brave seems to be focusing more on monetizing products and services rather than improving stability and user experience. Because of this, I’m seriously considering switching back to Chrome.
Is anyone else experiencing these problems? Has there been any official response from the developers or a reliable fix for these issues?
