Issue Updating in Kali Linux

When I try updating brave in Kali Linux 2020.3 I get the following error when I run apt update:
https://brave-browser-apt-release.s3.brave.com/dists/stable/InRelease: The key(s) in the keyring /etc/apt/trusted.gpg.d/brave-browser-release.gpg are ignored as the file has an unsupported filetype.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. run: sudo apt update

Expected result:
It is expected for the application to update without warnings and errors.

Brave Version( check About Brave):
Version 1.15.75 Chromium: 86.0.4240.99 (Official Build) (64-bit)](https://brave.com/latest/)

Additional Information:
Have tried re-adding the repo but am still having the same issue.

Distributor ID: Kali
Description: Kali GNU/Linux Rolling
Release: 2020.3
Codename: kali-rolling
Kernel: Linux 5.8.0-kali2-amd64

I just created a Kali Linux VM and followed the official Brave installation instructions successfully.

The only thing I had to do was to install the gnupg package first:

sudo apt install gnupg

Is it possible that the curl command failed somehow? That file is 2832 bytes long in my VM:

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2832 Mar 18 2020 /etc/apt/trusted.gpg.d/brave-browser-release.gpg

What is the output of apt-key list on your machine?

Sorry about the delay in responding, I have been busy with work and stuck in the land of Windows the past few weeks.

Everything has started working again. Don’t know what happened, it just stopped giving the error.
