Is there ever a need to 'update 'Javascript' in Brave?

I’ve seen advice to make sure Javascript is up to date in various troubleshooting instructions.

Is that ever necessary with Brave – i.e., does one ever have to proactively check & possibly download & install a more current version of Javascript?

Also, is running Brave Dev instead of Brave Core ever relevant as far as this is concerned?
