Brave is saying that I have excluded 55 sites from auto-contribute. I don’t remember excluding that many. It could be true, but is there a way to see a list of which sites have been excluded, or is there a file somewhere on the system where I could see the list?

Not just yet, but there’s one on the way – currently available in the Developer build – should hit the Release channel before too long, issue filed here:
Instead of showing the Restore all option at the bottom of your auto-contribute table, users will instead see a Show all option which displays a list of both included and excluded sites:
