Is Mobile Brave beta app or nightly version sending by default data to Brave?

My question is, if Mobile BraveBeta app or Nightly version sending by default data to Brave. Because those two are different instances from main version, I use them to log in on different accounts or for PWA.

@Jaki all versions of Brave send some data by default. Keep in mind it’s all privacy preserving though and nothing personal. You may want to read through https://support.brave.com/hc/en-us/articles/9140465918093-What-is-P3A-in-Brave and/or https://brave.com/privacy/browser/

To see specifically what data, it’s https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/wiki/P3A

Presumably, and I very much hope, this is not the case if the 3 data buttons are all switched off in Settings/Privacy/Data Collection?

I am wondering the same. I suppose the beta version might have by default, but on android, there are no options to turn anything off, are they? I haven’t seen

@Saoiray this page here says how to turn off crash reports but it does not apply to Brave Beta for Mobile because there are no such settings

"
How to switch this feature off. You can switch off “Automatically send usage statistics and crash reports to Brave Software” in settings.

Tip: you can quickly access settings by copying brave://settings into your address bar. "

Also I haven’t seen somewhere that you collect MAC address or phone number or device model. Brave doesn’t collect those info?

@Jaki it’s been the weekend when Support doesn’t work. I’m assuming someone like @Mattches will be able to answer you when they get back to work and settled in. Since I don’t have my Android anymore, I try to be careful on answers. I can’t open menus and take a look, so would rather just wait for people from Brave to give definitive info.

All the relevant privacy settings concerned here are in Menu —> Settings --> Brave Shields & Privacy. I believe that the Send private usage pings may be on by default, the other two are not.

@Mattches I see. What applies for Mobile apps? Such us Brave, and Brave Beta?
I think at the startup it shows two optional checkboxes for that. In settings I don’t see any option
