Is M6+ (french streaming site) blocked on Brave?

Problem

I was trying to watch a video on M6+ (french streaming service accessible via a web brower at https://www.m6.fr/) and when I try and launch a video, it doesn’t and shows the following message : “Assurez vous que la version de votre système d’exploitation soit suffisante et que votre navigateur soit à jour.” which translates as “Make sure your operating system version is sufficient and that your browser is up to date.”

More data

  • My OS is Windows eleven with all the last updates and my version of Brave is also up to date.
  • I suppose this only applies to France and maybe some European countries.
  • Videos from that very site work fine on Brave for Android.
  • I’m sorry I couldn’t pick a category, it didn’t seem to fit in any of them.

Questions

  1. Peers : Has anyone encountered this issue ?
  2. Theories : Is it possible the site is made to not show videos on Brave for Windows ?

@Cliardus do you have widevine enabled at brave://settings/extensions?

Widevine wasn’t enabled, I enabled it and tried again the site : it works.
