Is Brave failing to block Nielsen connections on ESPN.com?

Description of the issue:
I don’t think that Brave is blocking Nielsen trackers. I would think that Brave would.
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Install Chrome extension, Disconnect.
  2. Go to ESPN.com
  3. Notice that Disconnect quickly shows 1000s of Nielsen connections. (linked image)
  4. Brave is using 100% CPU
  5. If Disconnect is uninstalled, CPU continues to race and ESPN tab is still using 90-100% CPU.

Expected result:

Brave Version( check About Brave):
Version 0.68.132

Additional Information:
OSX 10.14.6

Is Disconnect needed?

Looking at it, I’d check with the Disconnect dev. We have no issues with other blocks like ABP or Ubo.

Disconnect is not needed. I’m just trying to figure out why ESPN.com never finishes loading (seen via rotating icon in tab).

Seems today it’s waiting on espn’s fastcast.semfs.engsvc.go.com service…

Is Brave blocking this url that causes it?

I don’t see it listed, but often I see “Connecting…” or “Establishing a Secure connection” at the bottom of the browser. Is there a way to see what it’s trying to connect to?

Possibly, via the Dev options in Console or Network (F12)
