For the past year or two, I’ve been running into an issue with Brave iPad OS version where if I open too many tabs, the browser will (usually) initially stop rendering parts of web pages, and if another tab is opened, I get a hard crash to desktop.
This issue is very consistent and has happened on multiple iPad Pros, the latest one being an 12.9” M1 with 16 gigs of RAM (2tb model). One of the reasons I bought it is because I was hoping the extra RAM would fix this issue. It did not.
Generally, a freshly opened Brave will crash after 50-60 tabs, but as the browser goes longer without being closed and reopened (with all tabs deleted), the number of tabs slowly goes down and down. After a week or two, 30-35 tabs will crash the browser. I’ve also noticed that “new tabs” do also contribute to this total.

Edit: For anyone who sees this (maybe from a Google search or something), my solution was to just switch to a more functional browser like Safari. Sucks, but it’s something I should have done awhile ago. I was hoping over the years, Brave would be able to step up and fix this severe issue, but they have not and after years of waiting I’ve just made the switch away from them. I suggest you do so as well. I have stopped using brave across all devices now, and can no longer recommend it to anyone seeing as core functionality appears to be compromised.
