iOS app crashes on launch from other apps

Brave version: 1.5.6
iOS version: 11.3

If you launch the Brave iOS app from another app, it starts loading and then crashes immediately. This is a problem for people who use app launchers like Launcher.

Here is how to reproduce:

  1. Open Safari browser
  2. In the URL field, type: brave://
  3. Hit Go
  4. Hit Open when it says “Open in Brave?”

See that the Brave app starts the launch and then crashes.
