iOS 14 laggy keyboard

Description of the issue:

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Use keyboard in brave on iOS 14

Expected result: smooth keyboard

Brave Version( check About Brave):

Version 1.21 (20.11.10.16)

Mobile Device details
iphone 11, iOS14.2

Additional Information:

It works fine in safari.

In my case, the lag is even more pronounced when:

  1. Open a fresh brave on iPad Pro 10.5 iOS 14 (latest as of today)
  2. tap in the address bar and start the clock…
    3… after almost 1 second the keyboard finally pops up, but keep counting…
    4… and after a Short instance extra I can finally start typing

The lag is irritating. I suspect it has to do with the amount of bookmarks or favorites perhaps? Guesswork… turning off the background image doesn’t help either. I do need bookmarks and I love sync.

It‘d be great if the keyboard were snappy again like it is in Safari (where I do not have many bookmarks by the way).

It’s the same for me. Hope it will be fixed soon. If I “force close” Brave and open it fresh, it will work fine for some time.

Hi, I second your statement. Force closing, waiting 10 sec, then starting brave again indeed brings up the keyboard immediately for a while. I am surprised not more people have commented all this time… :face_with_raised_eyebrow: Are we alone with this? :astonished:
