'Invalid sender' metamask error

I am using metamask inside the brave browser ‘crypto wallets’ section.
My metamask is presenting me with the following error when trying to send funds to another wallet, or interact with defi protocols. This error occurs on ETH, BSC & Fantom Opera chains.

[ethjs-query] while formatting outputs from RPC ‘{“value”:{“code”:-32603,“message”:“Internal JSON-RPC error.”,“data”:{“code”:-32000,“message”:“invalid sender”}}}’

I have restored my phrase on another windows PC, however, this error still occurs. I am using Brave Browser on both PCs.
