Instagram - cannot log in with Brave Browser

Description of the issue:

  • When I try to log into Instagram on Brave, I enter the correct password, but it says it’s incorrect.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Open Brave.
  2. Go to instagram.com.
  3. Enter your username and password.
  4. Click “Log In.”

Actual Result:

  • An error message appears saying the password is incorrect.

Expected Result:

  • I should be logged into my Instagram account.

Reproduces how often:

  • Every time I try to log in.

Operating System and Brave Version:

  • Operating System: [Your Operating System, e.g., Windows 10, macOS Monterey]
  • Brave Version: [Version number from About Brave]

Additional Information:

  • I’ve tried clearing cookies and cache, and disabling extensions.
  • I’ve also tried logging in on a different browser and it works fine.

I am having the same problem, even if I use a Guest Account. I have no problem logging in with Chrome, Safari, or Firefox.

I’m having the same problem when trying to login via Brave. Firefgox, Chrome, Edge works without any problems.

Yeah, I can concur. Running Brave on Ubuntu 24.10, and this problem has been bugging me for almost two months. Any fixes are appreciated!

having the same problem in normal and private windows. fully reset Brave, cleared history, cache, cookies, everything. still not working

being weird, curious, anxious and feeling woried if and if Brave manipulate our correct Instagram login password for something bad :laughing:

same issue for weeks now - macbook air m3 sonoma 14.7

opening a private window allowed me to log in but I have multi accounts for businesses I manage their social media and this does not help

tried clearning everything, reinstalling Brave = nothing has works - please fix asap

I am having this issue as well, but strangely only with one of my instagram handles (i have a few accounts and it works fine with the other ones, though, they are through google accounts and the one that’s not working just uses the regular username field) (it works on all browsers except for brave and i’ve checked and re-checked both the username and password multiple times)

Brave might have bad intention upon being not willing to resolve this Instagram login problem and Brave may be collecting our Instagram passwords for their own purposes

I have the same issue with two different instagram accounts

@samantha @harshg @nlldiamond @_ash @ironclad_chomskyan and whoever else…just wanting to make sure.

  1. Is this still an issue?

  2. If you open your browser in a private window, are you able to login?

  3. If you try in a new test profile, can you login? If not aware how, it’s hamburger menu → more tools → add new profile

  4. Does it work in Brave Beta or Brave Nightly?

NOTE

  • If it works in private window then means it’s cookies or extensions.

  • If it works in test profile, means settings or extensions most likely…though can be some weird profile corruption/issue.

  • If doesn’t work on any of the above but works well in Beta or Nightly, then means something weird with that version but likely to get fixed in update.
