I’ve been a long-time user of the Brave browser because of its speed and excellent ad-blocking capabilities. Previously, I used the Brave Beta version on my Linux system (Arch-based EndeavourOS, KDE Plasma 6, Wayland), but I encountered an issue where I couldn’t input Chinese in the address bar.
I followed the configuration steps here:
but the problem persisted.
Due to this, I switched to the stable version of Brave, which initially worked fine. However, after a recent update, I started experiencing a new issue: when typing in non-English input methods (such as Chinese or Japanese) in the address bar, the input gets duplicated 2–3 times unexpectedly.
This problem does not occur in Chrome or Firefox under the same environment, so I’m unsure whether the root cause is with Fcitx5, Wayland, or Brave itself.
I hope this can be investigated and resolved, as I would love to return to using Brave as my daily browser.
