Include the option to block WebRTC in the Brave shields


I’ve just read this article:

and it states that using an extension to prevent WebRTC leaks doesn’t always work.

If it’s feasible, I think it would be nice to have the ability to set WebRTC on or off.


If you are using the new chromium based Brave browser in recent versions it is included in settings (of course not in the shield menu as you are referring).

@nellaiseemai is correct. As per his reply, you can change Brave’s WebRTC configuration in
Settings --> Advanced --> Privacy and Security --> WebRTC IP Handling Policy.

Also remember that we’re undergoing several massive design overhauls, so the path/location of these settings is subject to change. We’re working on a cohesive knowledge base to capture all these changes for easy reference.


Thank you for clarifying this. To be perfectly honest, I had noticed those WebRTC settings, but I don’t have the slightest clue what the different options mean!
