Description of the issue:
When I try to import settings (getStarted, appearance, etc.) by copying/modifying the correct folder (“Default” folder), I get corruption issues and the settings don’t get imported. I’ve looked into this post, but even by only copying/modifying these certain files, I still get the corruption thing.
How can this issue be reproduced?
- Modify the corresponding files in AppData\Local\ … \Brave-Browser
- Or directly copy these files from another computer with Brave installed
Expected result:
Have all the settings imported without corruption issues

Version 1.29.81 Chromium: 93.0.4577.82 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Additional Information:
I’ve also tried looking into the policies settings by adding keys into the registry; it works, but I want the user to be able to modify the settings himself afterwards, and removing the registry keys resets the settings to what it was before.
