Importing bookmarks and settings from old HD

Description of the issue:

Hi all - my PC died on me and l had to install Brave on a new PC. For the moment, I cannot clone the old drive to be my new startup drive. So I have access to the old files but I am using a new install of Brave. Is there any way to import bookmarks, extensions, settings from the old files?

Using Brave v 1.13.82 FYI

Close brave if opened and mount your old hard drive… go into the old hard drive’s user app data/BraveSoftware/default folder and copy the Bookmarks file to the new hard drive’s data/BraveSoftware/default folder, overwriting the existing Bookmarks file… Start brave software.

You can try copying over your Default folder - please see:

Hi @LDF1311, Welcome to Community! You could try going to C:\Users\[Your User Name]\AppData\Local\BraveSoftware\Brave-Browser\User Data\Default and copying the contents from Default into a new Default folder from a new installation. Default will be your original profile, any other new profiles will be called Profile 1, Profile 2 and so on. note - this method is not perfect and some data may be lost

BRAVE browser tabs are not movable any more

To back up everything I would make a copy of your Default profile folder to your Desktop. The Default folder can be found at: C:\Users\[Your User Name]\AppData\Local\BraveSoftware\Brave-Browser\User Data. This folder will contain your bookmarks, extensions, etc. After making the new Brave installation, you can replace the new Default folder with your backup copy.
