I tried to fill in the parts listed above, but could not. So here it is freeform… Description of the issue: I visit some URLs and get an icon on the main page after first visit. Some I have to visit several times and get an icon. Some I visit dozens of times and never get an icon.
How can this issue be reproduced? Follow steps in Description. Visit Spectrum one time and get a Spectrum icon even though I will never go there again. Visit my Kindle Unlimited web page many times and never get an icon. My URL for that is https://www.amazon.com/kindle-dbs/ku/ku-central
Brave Version: 1.47.186 I am on windows 8.1 so that’s the highest version I can go.
Additional Information: Please don’t ignore me. Adding and removing icons shouldn’t be hard. I just don’t know how to do it. I could do it on Google Chrome and did so. But Chrome got infected so I avoid it.
@JonJacobs,
Thanks for reaching out to us.
So there are two different modes for the “top-sites” widget that you are referring to (shown below) — one mode is “Top-sites”/“Frequently visited”, which populates based on sites that you visit most frequently. Note that you can still edit/remove sites from this list by hovering over the tile and clicking the “pencil” icon:
The other mode is “Favorites”, which is populated manually (entirely, I believe). You can swap between these modes by clicking the “three dots”/“more options” icon on the top-right corner of the widget:
Favorites can be added by clicking the Add site
tile in the widget and just as above, sites can be removed and edited using the “pencil” icon when hovering over the tile. Lastly, you may click and drag in either mode to rearrange the tile order:
Hope this helps!
Thank you so much! That worked perfectly. I never noticed the … , and the + icon simply wasn’t there until I added a site via … I should have clicked the pencil icon to see what it does, and a younger person would have done so. But 73 doesn’t seem to be “younger.”
Hi, I wonder if it is possible to edit a “favorite” in the “top-sites” widget in such a way, that when you click on the added site, the site opens on a new tab instead of replacing the “new tab” which hold the “top-sites” widget?
Some kind of function like the html attribute target="_blank"
.
@leon.segond,
It is likely possible but also likely to not be prioritized, considering you can achieve this by simply holding Ctrl
when clicking on any of the tiles (or any link, for that matter) to launch them in a new tab.
