I deactivated IA Leo in settings but it's still working

With a recent post, I learnt how to desactivate IA Leo in both setting, Brave and brave search.
I don’t need IA, it’s not useful for me and it costs a lot of energy I don’t want to waste…
Unfortunately, IA Leo is still doing his (unwanted) work when I make some research… Like it is still activate…
How can I desactivate it for good? In the android app and in PC (it does the same)?
I’m thinking about leaving brave for good because of this ethical reasons.
Please help me.
Thanks

When I decide to use Brave Search, I always go to:

https://search.brave.com/settings

and DISABLE Answer with AI:

and DISABLE Discussions:

. . . and then scroll to the top of that webpage and click on the “[Lion]brave” icon:

. . . thereby going to the Brave Search webpage.

Brave Search Engine Operators:

In my experience, the plus and particularly the minus symbols usage have NOT been reliable:

  • +: Returns web pages containing the specified term either in the title or the body of the page. Example: to find information about FreeSync GPU technology, making sure the keyword “FreeSync” appears in the result, type “gpu +freesync”.
  • -: Returns web pages not containing the specified term neither in the title nor the body of the page. Example: to search web pages containing the keyword “office” while avoiding results with the term “Microsoft”, type “office -microsoft”.
- - - - -

Thank you for your answer. But I had already this settings off and IA Leo is still showing up
Looks like desactivating doesn’t work

I do not know why the Brave Leo AI icon is displayed when AI is disabled.

But I manage to avoid clicking on that icon:

Me too. But Leo is working… At the moment I search

Okay. But this is not my problem

Leo is disabled. In both settings as I said earlier. When I go back in the setting Leo is not renabled

But it doesn’t matter. Leo is still working. When I make some research Leo is giving me an answer (I do not want). And I’m not even touching the button to have an answer by IA.
It’s working when it shouldn’t. When it should be off. In phone and PC

@Tomiranger yes, this is a feedback also given. I’ll tag in @Mattches just so he can circle back

Can you please elaborate on the problem for us then so that we can better assist you? All I have to go on here thus far is that Leo is “working when it’s off”. Can you please tell me where you see it working after disabling it?

Are you seeing it in the browser directly or is this when using search.brave.com? If in the browser, where exactly are you seeing Leo show up?

@Mattches I think this may be a reference to things that have been reported before. For example, Brave Search still answering with AI despite the setting being turned off?

So when I go to Brave Search right now and check settings, I have AI turned off:

If I type in Verwendungszweck englisch and submit the search, it gives AI generated answer:

Essentially people have been reporting for a while now that they’ll sometimes get AI answers even though it’s been completely disabled. And it happens without hitting the AI button. It just defaults to it. No real rhyme or reason it seems. Though it is weird that the particular search term of Verwendungszweck englisch seems to result in this behavior without fail.

Yes, this is my problem. With some terms, I’m receiving an IA response.
It’s frequent.

If javascript is not allowed from brave.com then the Brave Search settings will not stick.

If the switch(es) that allows javascripts from brave.com do(es) not stick, then the Brave Search settings will not stick.
