Description of the issue:
I get an error message when trying to login to edx.org from Brave
There is no problem logging into edX.org from Firefox
Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
Put edx.org in browser
Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):
#### We couldn’t sign you in.
* # Forbidden (403)
CSRF verification failed. Request aborted.
More information is available with DEBUG=True.
I should get access to the site.
Reproduces how often:
Operating System and Brave Version(See the
About Brave page in the main menu):
Version 0.66.101 Chromium: 75.0.3770.142 (Official Build) (64-bit)
I tried with ‘Shields Down’, and I get the same result.
Believe that I have logged into edx.org in the past. Could this be related to an upgraded version of Brave?
Thanks for reaching out to us. Logging in to the site on my end seems to work without issue – was there a specific action or page on the site where you found yourself getting blocked?
Thanks for the response. I can't log in with Brave, only with
Firefox. Here’s a screenshot.
Also, if I click “Need help logging in?”, the site takes me to

Can you try clicking the “lock” icon on the left side of the address bar, then going to
Site Settings --> Clear data. Then relaunch the browser and try to authenticate again.
That worked. Can you provide any insite as to why?
Thanks a lot
Clearing your browser/site cache likely got rid of old – potentially bad – logs that the site was continuing to reference. Once cleared, you’re now essentially giving the browser a “fresh” set of data to work from.
Thanks again. I’ll keep that in mind if I have other problems with Brave. I appreciate the prompt help.
