I can't connect the uphold account after resetting my android device

Briefly describe your issue:
I had the Brave browser connected to my mobile phone and the Brave rewards connected to the Uphold app, but I had a problem with my phone and had to reset it completely, and when I reinstall the Brave browser, it now doesn’t let me connect Brave rewards with Uphold. From Uphold support it tells me that it has to be Brave support who solves my problem.

@Odinn21 okay, so let me get you to provide some info here.

  1. What happens when you try to connect to Uphold? Without knowing any error message or what’s happening, it’s hard to help.
  2. Are you originally from Spain or did you move? More particularly, when you created your Uphold account did you provide them a passport from Spain or from another country?
  3. Did you choose Spain for your country when enabling Rewards after resetting it?

I am originally from Spain and live here in Spain, and I have also created the account here, selecting Spain as the country.
When I try to link the Uphold account, it sends me an SMS, I enter the code received and then it sends me an e-mail with a verification link, I click on the link but I only manage to enter the Uphold app, while the linking page remains the same as it was and only gives me the option to resend the verification e-mail.

To connect rewards to Uphold, everything must be done within the Brave browser. However, on Android devices, the Uphold app often takes priority. During the verification process, it redirects to the Uphold app, which prevents the setup from completing because it wasn’t done in Brave.

To fix this, you have two options:

  1. Go to your Android app settings and change the default behavior so the Uphold app doesn’t open automatically when clicking links.

  2. Temporarily uninstall the Uphold app, complete the setup in Brave, and then reinstall Uphold once the integration is complete.

Most people find the second option easier, as it avoids having to adjust device settings. Choose the method that works best for you.
