How to stop Brave from opening a new tab every time i launch the app?

Starting about one month ago, every time I launch the brave app on my phone, it automatically opens a new tab. How do i turn that off? I want it to just open the last tab i had open, like it used to. Thanks.

I can confirm i have same issue with Brave on Motorola G84. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Automatic new tab upon starting app (android)

Description of the issue: Sometimes when the app starts, usually after I haven’t used it in a while, it auto opens a new tab. I don’t want the new tab bc I usually have tabs open that I’m using, which I generally reuse. This just started happening in the last couple weeks. How can this issue be reproduced?
