How to open PDF files in a new tab?

I would like to see that Brave opens PDF file links in a new tab innstead of downloading them. Reason: the “download PD>F files” option is set to off. So I have to

  1. download them
  2. doubleclick them to have them opened in Brave

Right-click file in download bar and click "always open with system viewer "
Then you have to set brave as system viewer (default program for opening pdfs; set it in settings or control panel)
