Description of the issue:

The “Block all cookies” option is missing under the “Block scripts” section in Brave settings.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Open Brave Browser on

  2. Go to Settings > Shields and Privacy.

  3. Check under “Block scripts” for the “Block all cookies” option.

Expected result:

The “Block all cookies” option should be available under “Block scripts”

Brave Version:

Version 1.75 (179)

BraveCore 1.75.179 (133.0.6943.98)

Mobile Device details:

Device: iPhone XR

iOS Version: 18.0.1

Additional Information:

The option was previously available but seems to have been removed in a recent update. Looking for clarification on whether this change is intentional or a bug.

Disappeared via recent BB (iOS) update to version 1.75 (179) - seems to be intended.

I believe this has to do with the amount of control we have over Apple’s WebKit API – we’re limited there in ways we are not on Desktop/Android.

@Jcanexx big question I have is why would you need it? You can auto shred to have it purge everything about you. Shields would be blocking 3rd party cookies, meaning you’re only getting what is “necessary” for websites to work. There’s no real benefit to blocking all cookies except to say you want to potentially break every site you go to.

I’m not sure how long it will remain an option, but you can enable the setting for Block All cookies if you go to brave://flags. You’ll see #block-all-cookies-toggle as one of the flags. The default is currently disabled. If you do want to go and enable that, then you’ll need to exit out of Brave and launch it again for it to become active.

Its seems shield cant block all the invisible ads that forcing me to go to the other site but thank you for telling me ill have that in mind

@Jcanexx Shields typically does. There are always improvements being made. If you have any website where redirects are happening it’s best to create a topic at Browser Support > Ad-Blocking and to provide all the details you can. This allows the ad blocking teams to try to take a look and find ways to improve to make it stop. It’s not perfect and it’s a constant war, where websites try to change their code as ads get blocked, so always a back and forth. But usually are able to stay ahead.

Also, I really do advise you make sure to go into Brave’s SettingsShields & Privacy and make sure you have Trackers & Ads Blocking set to Aggressive. Then scroll down a bit to Content Filtering and make to enable Fanboy's Annoyances + uBO Annoyances. This will make a big difference on things.
