how this works, just today i actived my account, i connected it to Uphold and everything, i actived everything in Brave Rewards, with the maximum possiblity of ads in (like 10 per hour), and like that, everything activated, and everything stills on Zero, idk if some times i will get pop ups with ads, i dont certainly know, someone can explain me how i will start to get token about this? and how it will be?
@simo.n very short version is you opt in and connect, you view Brave’s ads via push notifications, Brave News, New Tab Page ads, etc, and then you get paid for all ads that weren’t House Ads once per month.
All ads seen here in April get paid in May. If you checked your Rewards, you would see it even tells you when payments begin:
It can sometimes take several days or even weeks to complete the payout process, but they try to complete it as close to the 7th of each month as possible.
Balance? Because haven’t been paid yet. Just the once per month.
But you should be seeing ad count increase.
ok now i understand better with some things you told me, but something i still dont understang is that there you show me you have seen 612 ads in this month, thing that in my case, its still on 10 since yesterday, and talking about that
i still do not see any ads, like you said “via push notifications, Brave News, New Tab Page ads, etc”, i still dont see any of that, and i am not kidding, idk if this kind of ads pass unnoticed from my eyes or idk, and in that photo you can see ive got all the options of ads activated, soooooo, any ideas?
@simo.n you have seen 10 ads. It shows you have seen 5 New Tab Page ads and 5 push notification ads.
I have some examples and explanation at Helpful Info & FAQ for Brave Users - #22 by Saoiray
You can also kind of see what things look like at:
- Push Notifications = https://brave.photos/notifications
- Brave News ads = https://brave.photos/newsfeed
- NTP ads = https://brave.photos/
Also if you go to brave://rewards/
you should have a button that says 30-day Ads History
Clicking on it shows you what ads you have seen. For example, I just clicked and I see like we do below. But what’s a bit frustrating is almost all of these ads are for Brave. These are House Ads, which pay nothing.
But I do see that the one:
If I go to https://sampson.codes/brave/ads/my_region/ which shows ads in our region:
That one pays 0.01 BAT for seeing it. Which really is not much at all, it’s just $0.0013. This means not even worth a penny.
But at least it pays. Whereas many of the others that was on my list of recently viewed ads, it’s 0 BAT:
ok ill tell you right now it seems that my counter of ads incresed to 18, because on purpose i started to open tab by tab seeing for 1 second any ad, and i gotta note that almost half of your ads seen are for “push notifications”
i assume like these,
ive never seen an add like these, even if the brave rewards counter still saying it
the “push notifications” counter stills on 5, even if my max per hour is active in 10, ive got several hours using brave today, and the counter stills on 5, idk what to configure to have this push notifications to my own
and another thing, when i opened the link that you passed me about my region this pop ups
i really dont undertant this kind of thing at all
It’s “max” per hour, not guaranteed or minimum per hour. We have no guarantee that we will see push notifications. If you didn’t click on that link I provided earlier, you may want to read everything at Helpful Info & FAQ for Brave Users - #22 by Saoiray as I share limits and all about the hard view limits and all as well.
They show up as notifications. Kind of the same way as your device would show you a notification if you have some problem. If you have it set to have them hidden then you wouldn’t see it pop up on your screen necessarily.
Or like I just opened up Brave Beta that I had and let it go for a bit, I ended up with a push notification that popped up. This is the other form which Brave started forcing where it is a floating one.
That shows you all ad campaigns in your region. I have a reply to someone on a larger topic of mine that you can see at Saoiray's Discussion about Rewards payout amounts - #19 by Saoiray or I have a topic opened to try to explicitly explain this tool at Understanding Brave Ads Catalog Viewer where you can click each drop down area for a full explanation, though the payout status no longer shows there.
But that link is something provided by someone from Brave so we can see how many ad campaigns there are, the maximum view limits, which OS they target, etc.
Could be your device notification settings. If you go to https://support.brave.com/hc/en-us/articles/360058972091-Push-Notification-Test does it work?
ok now i did that, i think this is my ultimate question, this kind of ads continue to accumulate of a passive way? or to add them to the ad counter I have to open them obligatorily
@simo.n just them loading is all that’s needed. No clicking or anything. So like earlier when you said you don’t remember seeing them, that doesn’t much matter. As long as the browser thinks/says you saw them, you get credit for it.
They have been talking about maybe getting rid of notification ads in the future. A lot of the focus is going on having an Offer Wall, which we can kind of see in part now. They have the early design for it now in the Explore portion. Eventually we’ll see things there where we can complete small tasks to earn BAT as well.
But for now…they just load as we engage with the browser. For the most part it’s just passive and generally not a good thing to try to chase after. People putting too high of a focus on the higher earnings has often resulted in people getting flagged (suspended) because it can lead to abuse in a bunch of different ways.
ok with this thing activated i will start to get these ads and eventualy get credit about it? even if i dont have brave active? because 1 hour have passed from when i activated this I don’t see my counter increasing
i still dont got any push notification, what did you do to get that?
please answer, i just need help
Hello - Did you take a look at the Windows notification settings? https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/notifications-and-do-not-disturb-in-windows-feeca47f-0baf-5680-16f0-8801db1a8466
yes I did it, but it doesn’t give me the solution
@simo.n what we’re asking is the result. Going to that is a test. Did you see a push notification when you did it? So far you aren’t saying one way or another.
Also, even though you think you haven’t seen anything, do you see the count going up? I think part of your big issue is you have completely the wrong expectations. But we can get to that later. For now…did you do the push notification test and did it show you a notification? Also, have you made sure to go into your device notification settings to make sure nothing is blocking?
nope
and like you can see the “push notifications” stills on 5
even if the test notification goes in
@simo.n if that is going through then make sure to double check system settings, such as:
But as I said, it may just be wrong expectations from you. Looking at mine now:
My notifications only increased by 13 in the past 24 hours. What you have to understand is I’m unemployed and disabled. My computer stays on all day and I randomly check on it to do little tasks like answering questions here, doing something on Reddit, etc. I’m also in the United States, which tends to have more ad campaigns than many other countries.
Just use your browser and watch what happens. Don’t go chasing after it. With how much you’re trying to force things and worry, I’m concerned you’re going to get overly concerned and cause the antifraud system to flag your account. Just give it time.
Part of how ads are determined to be shown to us is based on our activity. The types of websites you visit, how long you visit sites, how often you use your device, etc all play a role on top of what ad campaigns are in your area.
Just so you know, chances are the most you’ll be earning is like $0.10 to $0.50 a month with how the current payouts have been. For example, my last two payments are below:
