  • You won’t be able to verify your Brave Rewards profile
  • You will not be able to earn from Brave Ads (you may stop receiving ads, and you will not be eligible to receive Brave Ads earnings payouts)

So my profile isn’t flagged if I’m recieving NTP ads right.?

Wrong. If you have your New Tab set to display NTP ads, it will show even if you have Rewards disabled or you’re flagged. Brave News will always have ads as well, regardless. The difference is you won’t be earning BAT for them if you’re flagged or have Rewards off. The primary changes are you shouldn’t see any further Push Notification ads AND you won’t earn BAT or receive any further payouts unless/until the turned on or the flag is removed.

One of the primary ways to know whether you’re flagged is to attempt to link to a custodial partner. (if you’re already linked, disconnect and try to reconnect). If flagged, it will advise of such. Of course, this only works if you’re in a supported region, otherwise you’ll just see that your country isn’t supported. Hence the answer Alice gave, which is that you’ll just stop seeing earnings accrue and won’t see those ad notifications.

Amount of bat does get added up after every NTP image but push notifications are somewhat rare. Does it still mean it’s flagged?

@sujayrao Nah, it just means that there may not be a lot of ads targeting your device OS in your region, and/or you’re just a bit unlucky. How many ads we see in a day is always kind of random. The only thing we can control ourselves is how many ads we see each day through Brave News and NTP ads. Though even those have a bit of randomness to them.

  • You can see/earn from NTP ads once every 15 minutes. You should see Sponsored Image (SI) once every 4 times you open a tab but the earnings are restricted to what I mentioned. You can only earn from up to 20 NTP ads a day.

  • Brave News can show up to 12 ads per hour, with a maximum amount of earnings from up to 60 in a day.

  • Push Notification (PN) Ads technically could show up to 10 per hour, maximum of 100 per day. But the chances of getting anywhere near that is very unlikely.

When it comes to PN, I wish I could remember the specifics. Let’s just say it’s basically like a mini lottery. So even if there’s an ad that fits you, your device still is having to do something like flip coins, roll dice, or whatever. Only when it gets the appropriate thing does the ad go through and you see it. And, of course, before that, it first has to go through a series of checks, such as making sure it’s your region and OS.

I have not seen a single news ad for weeks. I am thinking it was slowdown but want to be sure. I added content via selecting new news feed topics in options. Will that help?

You are not receiving brave news ads because there aren’t any. All the ad campaigns in brave news had some affiliation with FTX and when FTX collapsed they all shut down silently. This is why there are no current brave news ads. You can see campaigns running in your region via this link: https://sampson.codes/brave/ads/my_region/ . You will only receive the ads listed in this link
