Description of the issue: how do i completely disable ALL adblocking features of brave? How can this issue be reproduced?
Expected result:
Brave Version( check About Brave):
Version 1.64.116 Chromium: 123.0.6312.105 (Official Build) (arm64)
Additional Information: hi! i want to use uBlock Origin as my adblocker of choice and the uBO subreddit recommends to disable all other adblockers on your browser if using uBO so im wondering how i can do that on brave, as there seem to be multiple adblocking settings for brave. i want to make sure i turn all of them off. thanks so much in advance for any and all help! have a great day/night!
@estrobink before doing anything, I would go to Settings → Privacy and Security → Clear browsing data → go to Advanced tab → check the box for Site and Shields settings → Make sure time range on top says All Time and then clear it.
The reason I’m saying to do this first is if you had ever changed anything or visited sites, it might have saved Shields settings just for that one website only. So even when you turn it off globally, it might still be on for that site. By clearing everything, there’s no more individual settings.
Then you’ll immediately want to go to Settings → Shields and disable everything in the screenshot below (well, at least want to disable Trackers & ads blocking, Block cookies, and Block fingerprinting You can leave things like `Upgrade connections to HTTPS enabled if you want)
** NOTE **
In the screenshot, everything is enabled. You’ll want to set it to things like Disabled for each setting.
With that done, Shields should be off, even if the Shields lion shows orange. That icon is the site specific widget for Shields, so if you ever need to enable for a specific site, you’d do it through that.
