How Can Brave Rewards Display Notifications when Notifications for Brave Browser Are Turned Off in System Preferences?

Description of the issue:

Brave Rewards displays Ads in the Notifications area of desktop, even though notifications for Brave are turned off in the System Preferences.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. On macOS, turn off notifications from Brave in System Preferences
  2. In Brave Rewards. turn on Ads
  3. Ads appear in system notfication area, outside the Browser window

Expected result:
Nothing appears in notification area from Brave

Because Nightly version have a custom ads notification implemented which no longer depends on system notification.

@anon83185095 is correct – simply disable Brave Ads entirely to stop receiving Brave ads (Settings --> Brave Rewards --> Ads)
