Description:
Currently, the Brave Android browser displays search suggestions in the address bar even before the user starts typing. This can be distracting and may not be helpful as the user hasn’t yet indicated their search intent.
This feature request proposes that search suggestions should only appear after the user has started typing in the address bar. The address bar should remain empty or display only the current URL (if applicable) until the user begins to input text.
Benefits:
- Reduced Clutter: Hiding premature suggestions will declutter the address bar and provide a cleaner user interface.
- Improved Focus: Users can focus on typing their intended search query without being prematurely presented with potentially irrelevant suggestions.
- Enhanced User Experience: This change can lead to a more intuitive and less distracting Browse experience.
Use Case:
A user opens the Brave browser on their Android device and taps on the address bar to perform a search. Instead of immediately seeing a list of suggestions (which might be based on Browse history or trending searches), the address bar remains clear until the user starts typing their search terms. Only then do relevant suggestions begin to appear.
