Help on Adware issue

This may be related to my browser,or not,but everytime i turn on my computer brave automatically opens a website,an Ad,it can be any website but its always an ad,makes me think i got adware but i do not know how to remove it,I uninstalled brave to see if the issue would persist but ive just gotten an error,

If Brave opens ads at startup, scan your system for adware using tools like Malwarebytes. Check and disable suspicious programs in your system’s startup settings (Task Manager > Startup on Windows or Login Items on Mac). Reinstall Brave and remove unknown extensions in Settings > Extensions. Reset browser settings via Settings > Reset Settings and consider using a fresh browser profile to avoid corrupted files.

Add a vault toggle: “Trust local vault configuration (skip iCloud check).” It’s device-specific, available after local initialization, warns of risks, and includes a “Verify Configuration” button. Current workaround: press “Skip,” use third-party tools, or wait for native quick capture.

My own humble opinion:

Somehow, something (possibly a script downloaded), might (as in maybe) be affecting that launch of Brave Browser - such that, the Brave Browser acts/attempts to connect to the link you reported:

http://url-advertisement.org/

My guess is, that probably should not happen.

My suggestion is, to NOT INSTALL Brave Browser, while investigating, and until you learn more. And, maybe start your Windows OS machine, into Safe Mode(?) and run a complete scan.

Using the Windows OS command line (command prompt), the following command

dir /p /o:d

Provides a list of files in chronological order, for your present directory. Very handy for finding recent virus invaders and their associates, that generally appear within a certain time frame (recent).

It is a lot of work, marching through Windows OS machine directories, in particular, the AppData then Local then BraveSoftware directory and its sub-folders:

C:\Users[UserName]\AppData\Local\BraveSoftware\

but that is a handy command for finding some things . . . that ought not be on a PC.

Another tool - Kaspersky Rescue Disk:

  1. Save the Kaspersky Rescue Disk software to a USB memory device or a CD/DVD (to learn how to do this, see support.kaspersky.com/8092).
  2. Boot up your PC – from the storage device that contains Kaspersky Rescue Disk.
  3. Update the antivirus databases.
  4. Run a system scan on your PC and then follow the instructions on your screen.

Learn what you can, online, about where MIcrosoft Windows OS has scheduling features - one or more might be set up to cause the unexpected/undesired activity.

is defently an odd occurence i would suggest removing brave all together abd running a anti virus scan  then maybe try to reinstall brave from the offical site :frowning:
