Help deleting 2 devices from Sync Chain?

Hello, sorry to bother you @Mattches but I don’t want to delete my account, instead I need to remove 2 Devices from my Sync Chain added on the first steps of Brave Browser so there is no way to make them go away.
I checked something asked on other thread about it but didn’t know where to put it so I am tagging you on this thread I open now, really sorry if I am kind of confused on where to put it.

As you can see the date is quite old… one of the devices isn’t just has a new name and appears as a new item in the sync chain without issue, but the old one is still there.
How should I proceed with this issue? Can you please guide me?

@Shinusagi why are you going to the location you are showing in the screenshot? Just go to settings → sync which would be brave://settings/braveSync/setup and you will see all devices on the sync chain. Choose which ones you want to remove, like on this screenshot below you see the X to push and remove the device.

Hello, first of all thanks for the atempt to help, however it won’t work

I took those screenshots to put useful information, the capture you gave is useless to me, the option to remove IS NOT there, just like when it points “(This Device)”
This happenes because older builds had some issue to be removed that way, thus the reason I pointed those screenshots where that info is readable so @Mattches can confirm that is the case here.

Now in other thread they were talking about sending DM to ask for deletion on those cases “server-side”, but I tried the help and open a ticket or something but ended up here, not sure it is the right place tho… but surely @Mattches will know.

@Shinusagi I see that both of these devices show up at Chrome 84 or so which was released around 2020. One of the screenshots shows the last update it received from Sync was also in 2020. The other received in 2024. So this means they aren’t actively sending or receiving sync updates by the looks of it.

  • Are these screenshots from the outdated devices?
  • Do you have any device running a recent version of Brave?

Yeah, I can add any device (or remove it) besides those two, in fact those same devices are already in the list, here you can see how they are impossible to delete by myself, thus my ask for help from server side.

The others are all active, or at least I can manage them.

@Shinusagi we are not able to access your Sync data in order to remove this device as that would go against our Privacy policy with respect to Sync. Nobody, including us at Brave, has the keys access to your Sync account, the devices on-chain or the data held other than you.

To clarify, the device you’re referring to that you want to remove from the chain is no longer accessible? If so, does anyone have access to it or has it been wiped or something else?

Helo, thanks for answering.
Those devices do not exist anymore, one is an old installation already made again, which now shows as a new device on the Sync list and I can manage it, while the other is an actual still going installation that has changed the name and updated, and as a new device it shows on the synced list with posibility to manage it as well.

So those 2 old entries are stuck there annoying me, and I can do nothing to delete it at least from the normal panel.
Is any way to erase them from the list? Because creating a new Sync Chain when there are at least 10 active systems (mostly VMs running) to delete 2 is “not optimal” to say the least.

I’ve forwarded this information to our Sync team to see if there’s anything that can be done here but like I said, we aren’t able to access your data from our end.
