Help allowing java

This is my first visit so I hope I’ve chosen the correct place and tag and etc.

Brave version =
Version 1.45.133 Chromium: 107.0.5304.141 (Official Build) (64-bit)

A file sharing web site I visit will have a clickable link which opens a small window with information about the file in question. The clickable is known as a NFO file (a test file) and is a java script I suppose.

Recently, clicking this NFO link fails to open the popup window. I may have changed a setting in Brave that caused this, I don’t remember. I have enabled java (in settings) for this site but it’s still not working. Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction to correct this.

An example of the “URL” shown when hovering over the link = javascript:Information(‘file_x6113533’)

Other browsers on my computer still open the NFO file as a popup window, so this problem is specific to something I’ve done to Brave.

Thanks for any hep

@KingfishStevens,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
First, you appear to be using a very outdated version of the browser — I highly recommend you update to the latest build of the browser to ensure you a have all of the latest bug and security fixes.

Second, can you please share the address of the site that you’re visiting on your end so that I can test and see if I get the same results?

Last, can you please tell me what OS you’re using at this time?

Thank you
