Has anyone experienced issues with their Ethernet adapter disconnecting when their computer goes into sleep mode?

Hi everyone,

I’ve been experiencing issues with my Ethernet adapter disconnecting every time my computer goes into sleep mode. I’ve tried changing settings in the device manager to stop it from turning off to save power, but it still disconnects. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue and if they have found a solution.

Here are some of the things I’ve found while searching for a solution:

One user on the Microsoft community forum suggested going to the device manager > network adapters > Ethernet connection > properties > advanced tab and disabling “Energy Efficient Ethernet”.

Another user on the Tom’s Hardware forum suggested changing the power management plan to prevent the wireless adapter from turning off while in sleep mode.

A user on the Windows 11 forum suggested changing the power management plan to prevent the wireless adapter from turning off while in sleep mode.

A user on the Lenovo community forum suggested running the network troubleshooter to re-establish the Ethernet connection after waking from sleep mode.

A user on the Apple community forum suggested going to Preferences > Energy Saver and checking the box to prevent the Mac’s Ethernet connection from going down due to sleep mode.

Another user on the Ten Forums suggested going to the device manager > network adapter > properties > power management and unchecking “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power”.

I’m going to try some of these solutions, but I wanted to see if anyone else has found a solution that worked for them. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!
