Grey tint/screen dimms colors of websites

Description of the issue:
There is a screen of translucent grey color over websites while using Brave. Appears also in the Settings and NewTab. Does not appear on the menu toolbar or address bar. Sometimes some elements are not covered (attaching screens).
Browser was working fine, greyness started 27.10 (I don’t know if there was an auto-update).

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.

  1. Open Brave
  2. New tab or any other site is covered with grey screen, but works fine.

Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):

This is how it looks compared to Safari:

It sometimes go away…

And not always covers everything:

Expected result:
Normal, full-on white and bright colors.

Reproduces how often:
Every time.

Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):
Previous system was MacOs Mojave (newest version before Catalina) - here stopped working.
Now MacOs Catalina 10.15, still not working.
Brave: 0.70.121 Chromium: 78.0.3904.70 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Information:
I cleared cache and cookies.
I cleared every browser data.
Tried with shield on and off.
Disabled all my extensions.
Changed theme and went back to basic.
Uninstalled Brave with all dependencies.
Installed again.
Uninstalled again and updated Os to Catalina.
Installed again (but doesn’t work with dmg, so used brew cask install).

Nothing works :frowning:

Hi Mrooie – are you using the official build of Brave, or the Nightly build?

We recently pushed some changes to Nightly that may be causing this.

Hi, I guess I am using an Official one. That’s what it says in info.

@Mrooie,
Can you try disabling Hardware Acceleration to see if that helps?

Settings --> Additional Settings --> System --> Hardware Acceleration
