Pinch to zoom still way too sensitive and renders maps.google.com essentially useless.
This issue has cropped up numerous times:
Hello,
I have issues with the “pinch to zoom” (on windows laptop)
When I zoomed before it was very progressive and fluid
Since today it zooms in and out by steps (110% then 125% etc)
It’s really annoying because I’m used to zooming in and out on the pages to read articles.
It happened somehow by itself, I didn’t touch the settings at all.,
Do you know how I can make it as it used to on my browser?
I tested on google chrome as well and it works just fine, I only have this issue with brave. …
Description of the issue:
https://maps.google.com is unusable due to extremely high sensitivity of trackpad zoom gesture on MacOS 14.4.1.
How can this issue be reproduced?
Navigate to maps.google.com
Use an Apple Magic Trackpad two-finger up/down swipe to zoom in and out
Expected result:
As recently as yesterday, zooming was smooth and even, like in other Chromium-based browsers on MacOS. Today, each zoom level is a specific step, and each step zooms extremely fast, making it impossible t…
Brave
Brave is up to date
I’m on Version 1.69.153 Chromium: 128.0.6613.85
OSX Ventura 13.5.1
Have tried the various fixes listed in the above links to no avail (hardware acceleration etc).
Hello, will there be any update or fix to this or am I shouting into the void
Just checking in to see if this will ever be fixed?
So I guess this is goodbye for Brave. A darn shame but I use google maps on a daily basis and this bug is making the browser unusable for me, and the support seems not to care despite it cropping up numerous times in the community. A crying shame.
Guess I’ll be switching to Firefox. Greatly disappointed in the lack of response on an issue that is clearly plaguing many users. Bye.
