Google behaving weirdly in Brave

Description of the issue: When restarting Brave, I am signed out of all Google accounts. When attempting to sign in again, 3/4ths of the time, this error is given:

I am able to sign in if I click ‘Try again’ a few times but I have to verify using my phone all the time.

However I still get signed out on restart. I have also went into the settings and made sure that any clearing on exit is disabled, and actually allowed all cookies instead of blocking any. Still did not fix it.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. sign into Google
  2. restart Brave
  3. you’ll be signed out, and will try to sign in again, and the error will appear.

Expected result: stay signed in, no sign-in errors

Brave Version( check About Brave): 1.79.119 (Chromium 137.0.7151.68)

Hello @Cookiehead,
This issue is commonly linked to Brave’s Secure DNS or Ephemeral Storage features. Even with cookies allowed and clearing disabled, these settings can interfere with persistent Google logins. Try disabling Secure DNS via brave://settings/security and ensure “Forget me when I close this site” isn’t enabled in site settings. Testing in a clean profile can also help isolate the cause. krogerfeedback com

Like I said in the original post: I tried that, everything relating to it is disabled…
And yes, I do have multiple profiles, it doesn’t happen in any other profile other than that one. Could it be because of 1Password?

I got all of my google accounts logged out yesterday as well. I logged back in without disabling anything and they aren’t logged out even after exiting brave. But no matter what, whenever I login to my Spotify it always logs me out after exiting brave. Hopefully the problem could be pinpointed and resolved soon

I’m getting the same error when I try to log in to Google; however, my settings are such that being logged out when I close the browser is my preferred behaviour.

I have 2 Google accounts, and one of them has 2FA.
I noticed that when signing in with the 2FA one first, then non-2FA, I get signed out.
However, when signing in with non-2FA first, then 2FA, I stay signed in.

Weird.
