Gemini outside the US, reconnecting

Briefly describe your issue:

I am a long time Gemini verified user in Canada. I was logged out of Gemini. I am trying to reconnect, but it will not let me. The Gemini option is greyed out, saying it is because of the new region policy.

What Operating System and Brave version are you using (Menu --> About Brave)?

Windows 11, Brave v1.46.153

Is your browser wallet currently verified? (yes/no)


What date did you verify your wallet?

I don’t recall. As soon as Gemini became an option.

Have you been able to successfully receive payments in the past?


Are you using a VPN? (yes/no)


Are you eligible for Brave Rewards (see here for list of supported regions)?


Did you verify your Gemini account with Canadian ID, and is Canada the region you selected on Brave?

I just came across this?. I hadn’t realised Gemini was still restricted to only US users.

Yeah, changed in October. But anyone who had been previously verified is supposed to be grandfathered in and able to continue using Gemini.

Let me send you a PM. Otherwise, we have a nice fix for this in the next version of Brave (coming out early Feb).

Does it say “Logged out” or are you in the “Unverified” state? If you’re “Logged out”, it should just take you directly back to Gemini while skipping the selection screen.

It is indeed very weird if you got kicked back to the “Unverified” state unless you pressed “Disconnect from Gemini” explicitly!
