Frozen window when switching to an unloaded tab

Description of the issue: When switching to an unloaded tab, the window freezes and the user has to click tabs icon, then open the requested tab again. This usually occurs on websites which opens links in new tabs. Easiest way to reproduce this bug is opening Brave Rewards as described below.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Go to a new tab / stay on current tab
  2. Click the three dot menu at bottom
  3. Click Brave Rewards
  4. See that the previous page is frozen on screen

Expected result: The requested page should load.

Brave Version (check About Brave): Brave 1.75.181, Chromium 133.0.6943.141

Mobile Device details: Redmi Note 7 running an unofficial version of Project Pixelage Android 15 February security patch (Android 15; Build/AP4A.250205.002)

Not able to reproduce this issue on my end. I’m wondering if it is a Redmi specific issue – Redmi devices are known to sometimes have compatibility issues with the browser. Let me see I can find someone on the team who has one that can test and see if they can reproduce.

Nevermind, it was just my fault for messing with flags.
In case someone else does the same and wonders how to fix it, set “Show new tab animations” flag to default.
