Frozen up brave browser

My brave browser Version 1.76.73 has completely frozen up. I could probably restart it But then I would lose the urls in my private window. I would also like to know what webpage caused the issue in the first place. I have brave installed via Flatpak. I also don’t want to lose the auto load pages for the normal mode.

I have managed to open a new unfrozen instance of Brave where it gave the error Gtk-Message: Failed to load module “xapp-gtk3-module” and then a reasonably long delay of a few minutes of nothing before loading a new instance of Brave. I was going to use this new instances built in manager to try and diagnose the issue but it seems that because the old instance is all locked up and/or because Brave is installed via Flatpak it is not able to see the old instance.

When the new instance loaded it asked if I wanted to restore lost tabs. I closed the option to load all those tabs. Chatgpt informs me that the tabs should reload from the old instance once I properly restart Brave if I can’t unfreeze it. Is it correct?

Working long with chatgpt (hours) I found out that I have a zombie Brave process PID: 15258 with a Parent PID: 15257 with command line “bwrap --args 41 brave” Chatgpt informs me that I can’t kill the zombie and killing the parent would most assuredly crash Brave.

I am told that I can close individual tabs through killing certain processes but I am not sure how to determine which ones are the offending tab or even how to differentiate between a normal tab and a private tab process.

All brave processes are using a nominal amount of processing power, all showing as “0” and RAM usage is at most 480 or so for a process, with none standing out in RAM usage.

Is there a live chat for more timely technical help? I found a Bat discord server somewhat related to Brave but could not use it since I lack a mobile phone and requires mobile phone verification.

No idea how to recreate the problem, trying to fix the ongoing one.
