Font size setting in Brave on Mac OS is useless. Does not change font/text size

In Brave on my Mac OS running Ventura 13.6.9, in Settings > Content there is a setting for “font size.” Adjusting this setting has no visual effect on any font or text anywhere in Brave. It seems to do nothing. I need to change the size of the text without changing zoom, system settings, or display resolution, and I cannot do so.

Tried every option in the dropdown for the “font size” setting. No effect. I don’t want to “customize” the fonts. Any idea why the standard settings are not working? Am I right they are not working or is this normal, if normal, how do I change the text size in Brave?

I know how to change screen resolution and system fonts. I want to adjust the size in brave without changing resolution or system settings and without adjusting the zoom setting. Seems like this should be doable given this “font size” setting exists.

Expected response: Text, in the application window menu or in the content of each tab, the browser itself, changing size. Adjusting this setting should change the size of text somewhere
