FIX the POINTER, please

Description of the issue:

So, everywhere you click on a page the pointer will be “editable”, just like when you’re typing something… the problem of this is that it makes “Home” and “End” button unable to use and, instead, you can only use “Page Up” and “Page Down” button… I use the Home button and End button a lot to go up and down a page faster…
FOR EXAMPLE…
Try to click on this word(one click only)… in any other browser nothing will happen, but on brave a “Text Select” will show up on this very word…

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Just click anywhere on a webpage and watch the it become “editable” just like in a textbox…
  2. Try to click on this word… in any other browser nothing will happen, but on brave a “Text Select” will show up on this very word…

Expected result:
Pointer Fixed
Brave Version( check About Brave):
Version 1.56.20 Chromium: 115.0.5790.171 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Information:
It’s been like that for over a month…

This will happen on every browser. The issue is you just haven’t hit F7 on those to enable it yet. What you’re describing is called Caret browsing and it has existed pretty much since computers were first made. In fact, it used to be how we had to scroll through content in the past. You can read more on that at https://www.makeuseof.com/what-is-caret-browsing/

In any case, just hit F7 and it should toggle caret browsing off.

that’s right thanks
i’m so sorry
