Facebook: Need to re login after i close brave!

Just to make it clear. This only happens to me when I format my laptop, install Windows 11 and then install Brave and sync it with my phone (Btw my phone works fine).

I have now tried two times and the same happens and only with FB.
However after a few days of being logged out again and again from FB then it suddenly works. And I do not change any settings whatsoever as ALL other sites work perfectly.

Maybe its the location/IP its checking? Would test by connecting the PC to another network (like connecting too a mobile hotspot).

I have the same problem since a few days. Only Facebook, not Instagram. I have to login to FB each time I restart Brave, yet it strangely doesn’t ask for 2FA. I’ve reviewed my login history in FB and haven’t found anything suspect.

I’ve tried allowing all cookies and fingerprinting, in vain. If I reset the flags, will I lose my BATs (in Uphold)?

Resetting the flags didn’t change anything.

I just changed computers and I now have this problem on my new one. I tried with a new profile and still the same. On edge Facebook is able to remember my logins. In Facebook settings I can see that every time I log in Facebook saves my new computer as a new entry in the “trusted devices”, like if it doesn’t recognized it after a browser restart

I’m having the same issue. It’s as if the browser forgets the Facebook cookie after logging out, even though it shouldn’t according to the settings. I tried: new profile. reset flags.

I just tested this on my end in Release and Beta and did not have any issues.

A couple more things we can check here:

  • Do any of you have data set to be cleared On exit in Settings --> Clear browsing data --> On exit?
  • What are you Shields settings configured to? Are you seeing this same behavior using the default Shields settings?

Same problem here, and did some testing. If I use Chrome to sign-in, I get Facebook’s 2FA prompt, but Brave doesn’t show that page, it skips straight to the map “was this your sign-in”. And I’ve cleared Brave’s browsing data, and passwords, and tried without Shields and ublock.
So some setting in Brave is now blocking 2FA question from Facebook, and that’s why it doesn’t work as it should.

2FA won’t be blocked, probably a cookie/local storage was set previously so it wouldn’t ask again. If I recall “rememember my/this browser” will avoid the 2FA questions

The same problem here, I hope the Brave team is working to resolve this, because it is a very annoying thing, especially for those who use 2-step verification.

So, about that… Just did a complete reinstall to Brave, removed all traces of it first, rebooted and then installed with default settings. Still no luck with Facebook, I still get this error with every login. But if I use, let’s say Chrome, it just logs in without problems.

And these problems started for me, after I did some winter cleaning, removed my browsing data (all of it)

I could replicate this, also in Chrome. So not a “Brave only” issue

I must correct my previous post. The issue did NOT go away magically. It went away only after I disabled 2FA.
